Breakdown of stations:

Newstalk

Newstalk has achieved an all-time high Market Share of 6.9% an increase of 0.6% over the past year. Newstalk has 768,000 weekly listeners (up 14,000 year-on-year) while Daily Listenership is up 31,000 year on year to 419,000.  This makes Newstalk the second most listened to station in the country each day.  In addition, Newstalk has consolidated its position in the key Dublin Market as the clear Number 2 station in the capital. All Newstalk prime-time programmes across the weekday and weekend schedule showed audience growth while the introduction of the new 6am start to live weekday programming is also showing positive increases in audience.

Today FM

Today FM increased its weekly reach to 893,000 (+13,000), a massive 56,000 listeners ahead of 2FM.  The latest report showed astonishing growth for The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, who gained +18,000 new listeners, bringing the show to a 3-year-high, cementing its position of being the biggest breakfast show on commercial radio in Ireland. Further increases for Dermot & Dave, Fergal D’Arcy, Louise Duffy, Mario Rosenstock and The Last Word with Matt Cooper sees Today FM keep their position as the number one station for 25-44 year olds in Ireland.

Local Stations

Meanwhile, Dublin stations 98FM and SPIN1038 enjoyed strong performances with 98FM now entertaining a weekly audience of 231,000, up by 8,000. 98FM now commands an 8.3% share of the Dublin radio market, its highest since early 2012, making 98FM the second most-listened-to music station in Dublin.
